Marrakech heat can be too much to handle if you picked summertime to visit. Because of that we highly recommend you take this trip to explore the wonders of the Essaouira city.
You are going to be on a date with very old tales explaining the history of this city since it was a very important city in terms of protecting the costs of Morocco from the wars of the sea.
Our trip will start from Marrakech. It’s a 2h40min drive. Before we reach our destination we will have the chance to enjoy many beautiful and stunning landscapes overlooking the coast, this is where you are going to be stunned with the view of Argan trees filled with many goats on multiple branches trying to feed off of it, this is where we are going to have our first stop where not only we are going to take dozens of pictures of this fascinating view but to also learn about the process of extracting the rich oils out of this local rare fruit in women made cooperation that produces it for many uses food-wise where it could be combined with freshly baked Moroccan bread or simply drizzling it over your everyday pitta bread, and as beauty products for hair and skin care. And if you like getting your hands dirty a little, you can participate in a step or two of this process.
Right after this cultivating experience we will hit the road again toward this delightful old coastal town: Essaouira. The moment you arrive you will feel the humid wind that smells like the ocean. This leads us to our first stop in the local port where not only you are going to enjoy the freshness of the verity of seafood, but also you will be amazed by the blue boats scattered all over. Then we will dive deep in the vibrant old medina to explore it and see the old cannons that line the walls that were meant to protect the city from ancient invasions. Afterward, we will have our lunch break in a local restaurant where we highly recommend trying the delicious seafood. Right after this break we will enjoy the wonders of this city and visit some local markets, Moulay El Hassan square, Skala Kasbah, and some art galleries.
Lastly, we will visit the bright clear blue beach and enjoy a moment of peace under the blue sky and on the golden warm sands. Don’t forget to bring swimwear, sunblock, and a towel in case you wanted to take a dip or you can enjoy the sight of beach ball games and why not join them for more fun.
Once again, we will hit the roads back to Marrakech where we are going to enjoy the views of earlier BUT with a dash of a dreamy and magical sunset view.
